Sit comfortably and bring to mind a dear friend. Imagine them facing a small difficulty. Feel the warmth and compassion you have for them. Now, gently shift that focus to yourself. Imagine offering yourself the same comforting touch (perhaps a hand on your heart) and the same kind words you would offer your friend. Notice the feeling of that warmth within yourself.
