Discovering Stillness

Imagine a boat tossed by a furious storm. Waves crash, the wind howls, and fear grips the hearts of those on board. This is how life can feel sometimes, overwhelmed by challenges that seem determined to sink us.

Then, amidst the chaos, stands Jesus. Though the storm rages around Him, He is the very picture of serenity. With a simple command, "Peace! Be still!" (Mark 4:39), the wind ceases and the waves become calm.

Jesus isn't just a temporary fix for our troubles; He is the source of true and lasting peace. In the midst of our personal storms – be they anxieties, difficulties, or overwhelming circumstances – He offers a refuge. By turning to Him, by trusting in His presence and power, we can find that same stillness within our own hearts. He doesn't always calm the storm around us, but He always has the power to calm the storm within us.

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. - John 14:27 (NIV)

Let your breath slow as you ponder: What "storm" clouds your horizon today?

When the world rocks beneath you, might I encourage you to fix your gaze on Jesus ? His unwavering peace resides at the very heart of the storm.

May you find peace in His presence, today and always.

In Him, Harmony
