Practice the Pause
The hum of urgency is a constant companion in our modern lives. A relentless current pulls us forward, urging us to do more, acquire more, achieve more. This relentless "more, more, more" can become so deafening that years can slip through our fingers before we even realize we've forgotten to breathe.
Consider the simple act of listening to music or immersing ourselves in poetry. Where would the resonance lie without those deliberate silences between notes, the thoughtful breaks between verses? It's within those pauses that the echoes of what came before mingle with the anticipation of what's next, allowing us to truly feel the artistry.
In my own journey, God has graciously gifted me with seasons of pause. Yet, if I'm truly honest, those interludes haven’t always been fruitful. I often found myself still rushing through the stillness, eager to get back to some unspoken expectations and in doing so, I missed so much of the beauty unfolding around me. But by His grace, this season feels different. It's a time of reclaiming those lost opportunities, of truly inhabiting the quiet spaces.
It has only been in this season, as I intentionally embrace these moments of stillness, that I've begun to notice the countless wonders that have been silently passing me by. When we're constantly pushing against the pressures of life, we're bound to miss the subtle masterpieces being painted all around us. But trust this: there are exquisite details being woven into the fabric of your life right now, moments crafted uniquely for you, divine orchestrations waiting to be witnessed.
What if the very answers you've been tirelessly searching for are not to be found in the frantic pursuit, but in the gentle embrace of the pause?
What if, in the quiet stillness, you finally discern the whisper of your true purpose?
What if, within the spaciousness of a mindful moment, you hear the clear and loving voice of God providing wisdom?
The potential is boundless.
The most precious gifts I've received, the insights that have profoundly shaped me, were unveiled only when I finally learned to linger in the stillness.
Perhaps today is the day you truly meet your pause. The treasures it holds might just take your breath away.
"Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known" (Jeremiah 33:3)
