Day 79 - Rhythm of Rest
Beloved traveler, as we move into this final week dedicated to sustaining growth, I wanted to touch upon something that is often overlooked in our driven world: the vital importance of rest. Our culture often equates busyness with worthiness, pushing us to constantly strive and achieve. However, true and lasting growth requires periods of quietude, a chance to integrate all that we have learned and experienced.
Think back to Week 2, when we took inventory of our lives. We likely uncovered areas where we were expending unnecessary energy, perhaps pushing ourselves beyond our limits. Sustaining growth isn't about maintaining a constant state of high output; it's about finding a sustainable rhythm, a dance between activity and rest. Just as the earth needs seasons of fallow to replenish, so too do our minds, bodies, and spirits.
Today's somatic practice invites you to feel the difference between yes to rest and no to obligation in your body. This awareness is key to discerning when you truly need to pause. It's not about laziness or avoidance; it's about honoring your natural cycles and allowing yourself to be replenished. Remember the quiet strength we explored in Week 9? True strength often lies not in constant doing, but in the wisdom to rest and recharge. Embrace the rhythm of rest this week, knowing that it is an integral part of your continued flourishing.
Weekly Affirmation
I honor my journey of growth, gently sustaining my practices and stepping forward with inner wisdom.
Somatic Space
Notice the way your body feels when you say yes to rest and no to obligation. Sit with that feeling for a few minutes. Where do you feel it in your body? What is its texture? Its weight? Its temperature? Simply notice without judgment.
Scripture & Application
"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:10
As you step into the unknown of what's next, remember this promise. God is with you, upholding you every step of the way. You don't have to carry the weight of your journey alone. Rest in that strength and know you are fully supported.
