Priceless Identity
Well, here it is: May 7th, the day the Real ID mandate officially lands. If you're still rocking your old license, prepare for the inevitable "Ugh" – another pilgrimage to the DMV. You know the dance: the less-than-glamorous temporary paper, the promise of the real card, and the now-classic scavenger hunt for those vital documents (proof of address, birth certificates, the whole shebang). Just another Tuesday for bureaucracy, right ?
But… is your Real ID your true identity ?
Recently, the Spirit of God ignited a powerful truth within me. A compelling message from one of my favorite pastors (thank you, LG) confirmed the stirring in my soul.
We navigate a world of labels, assigned and adopted. These are the identities we often present. When we meet someone new, we are met with the standard introductory question, "What do you do?", implying our profession defines us. How do we identify? Parent, sibling, leader – the list goes on and on.
Yet, our core identity soars far beyond these temporary roles. As devoted followers of Jesus, we stand firm and proclaim our authentic identity rests solely in Him. We are not merely subjects; we are sons and daughters of the King – the ultimate King! We possess royal status, citizens of the glorious heavenly realms, even when the relentless pressures of this world continually attempt to overshadow our sacred inheritance.
Let this truth resonate within us: WE.ARE.ROYALTY !
Take a moment, today and in the days that follow, for some powerful introspection: where do you truly find your identity? My hope is that as the topic of Real ID circulates, it serves as a gentle reminder. Each time you hear those words, pause and offer gratitude to our Heavenly Father for the profound grace and boundless mercy that have welcomed us into His family. It was through His immeasurable love that our identity in Him was secured.
Let us intentionally offer praise, sending a resounding declaration into the spiritual realm: We are blood bought children of Christ and there is no earthly decree that can ever diminish that eternal truth.
May you embrace your royal identity today and always.
In Him, Harmony
